Operating Systems and Networks - CSC 435

This course is intended as a general overview of operating systems and networks. In the beginning of the first part an introduction to Unix and the Unix shell is given. We will also cover some elements of computer organization. Then the overall structure and functionality of an operating system is discussed without going in too much technical detail. The second part of the course treats networking concepts especially as related to TCP/IP and the internet. The focus of the second part will be mostly on the IT manager perspective.
Prerequisite: Junior Standing.
