Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) and the American University of Cyprus (AUCY), Larnaka, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a continuation of an initiative that began with the formation of a joint committee dedicated to expanding global opportunities for students and faculty members. NDU President, Fr. Bechara Khoury, and AUCY President, Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal, met on November 30, 2022, for the signing, with representatives of both institutions additionally in attendance.
The MoU’s purpose is part of an evolving global institutional outreach initiative, characterized by joint curricular programs, shared and collaborative research, student and faculty exchange opportunities, and participation in lectures, conferences, symposia, and seminars. Within this established context, the universities will pool their respective resources and capacities in order to deliver high-quality education and professional development in academia.
NDU’s Father President expressed confidence in this partnership, stating: “The MoU we signed today is a good start in reinforcing academic exchange, our two institutions serving as examples. NDU’s mission is to inspire life-changing learning opportunities and empower the youth.”
Dr. Zabbal was equally optimistic, trusting in NDU’s capacity to deliver: “We are pleased to establish formal cooperation with NDU, a university with an esteemed reputation in higher education in Lebanon.” He reiterated the mutual benefits this MoU will generate, as it will “enrich and assist AUCY in its growth trajectory to become a leading university in the near future.” May this collaboration inspire the universities to promote quality higher education, academic and scholarly innovation, and professional honesty.
