Business
decisions are mostly based on accounting
records and success is usually measured
in financial terms. This course is directly
concerned with those managerial aspects
related to the use of accounting information
to make sound and informed short-term and
long-term calculated decisions. Topics include
categorizing relevant costs, costing systems,
and cost-volume-profit relationships. Special
attention is also drawn to profit planning
and budgetary control, pricing products
and services, and measuring and managing
customer relationships and life cycle costs. This
course will also develop graduate students’
ability to analyze the published statements
of corporations. Prerequisites: ACO 501 or
Equivalent.
