Operating Systems and Networks - CSC 435
This course is
intended as a general overview of operating
systems and networks. In the beginning of
the first part an introduction to Unix and the
Unix shell is given. We will also cover some
elements of computer organization. Then
the overall structure and functionality of an
operating system is discussed without going
in too much technical detail. The second part
of the course treats networking concepts
especially as related to TCP/IP and the
internet. The focus of the second part will
be mostly on the IT manager perspective.
Prerequisite: Junior Standing.
