Statistics for Humanities - STA 202
This course is designed to introduce
students of the humanities to the most
important basic statistical techniques used
in their field of research, and to the SPSS
software package. The course material
covers data collection, organization and
graphing; describing distributions: scores,
central tendency, and variation; sampling
and probability distributions; estimation
and hypothesis testing; chi-square test;
correlation; analysis of variance. The
associated computer lab sessions allow the
students to apply the methods learned to
data sets and interpret findings.
