Numerical Analysis - MAT 339
The course introduces the theory and
applications of numerical approximation
techniques. Topics include: roots for non-linear equations, error analysis, Lagrange
polynomial interpolation, Newton’s divided
differences for approximation of functions,
numerical differentiation and integration and
least squares approximation. Computational
experiments in a programming language
are an integral component of the course.
Prerequisites: MAT 213 and ENG 202 or
CSC 212 or CSC 210 or CSC 215.
