Ali Hijazi, MA Student
Has a BA in External Auditing and Accounting from the Holy Spirit University Kaslik and is pursuing an MBA in Internal Auditing and Management at the same university. Hijazi followed a one-year study abroad at the Henry Ford Community College in Michigan, USA. He was also Junior Accountant at the Trust for Consulting and Auditing, Assistant Financial Manager at Dar Al Mughtareb for Printing and Editing, and the Accountant for the Teachers’ Syndicate. After working as a Field Officer for Relief International, Hijazi is presently Project Manager and Senior Access to Finance. He is also a Business Consultant with the Lebanese Development Network. Mr. Hijazi has been associated with LERC as a Research Assistant since 2006. In this capacity he assessed the economic and social situation in eight villages/towns in the Caza of Sour (Tyre) and interviewed stakeholders and micro-credit beneficiaries for a project aiming at studying the potential impact of micro-credit on curbing emigration from the South. Mr. Hijazi was the catalyst behind the current cooperation between Relief International and LERC concerning the former’s project entitled Empowering Municipalities through Local Economic Development (EMLED), where LERC is assisting RI in identifying and profiling Lebanese migrants who might be interested in the socio-economic development of Lebanese villages. He is currently serving as the Project Coordinator of RI-LERC cooperation.
