Overview:

This summer boot camp introduces the journey of creating a new social enterprise to solve current issues in Food, Nutrition, and Health. This experience challenges high school students to engage with peers, use innovative thinking, and learn the basics of what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Students will learn how a successful startup is created, as well as obtain core techniques in the areas of research, opportunity testing, MVP (Minimum Value Product) developing, marketing, scaling, and pitching.


Daily Schedule:

Start Time: 8:30 AM

End Time: 2:00 PM


Suggested Program:

Day 1:

- 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM: The session includes a kick-off, problem identification, and team building activities.
- 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Break
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: The session offers an introduction to Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), and Entrepreneurship life experiences.
- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: The session includes a visit to the lab and allows students to engage in hands-on work.


Day 2:

- 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Activity 3/4 encompasses sessions on design thinking and MVP (Minimum Viable Product) development and validation.
- 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Break
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: The session provides an introduction to human nutrition alongside insights into entrepreneurship life experiences.
- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: The session allows students to engage in hands-on work.

 

Day 3:

- 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Activity 5 entails a pitching day and product development through Sprint Design methodology.
- 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Break
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: The session provides an introduction to food safety alongside insights into entrepreneurship life experiences.
- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: The session includes a visit to the lab and allows students to engage in hands-on work.

 

Participants:

Open to school students of Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.

 

Outcome:

The camp will inspire them to think about their future and to develop an understanding of the business world and gain the confidence to pursue their goals. It will also contribute to the promotion of socio-economic development and growth by providing them with social impact skills and knowledge, developing their interest and ability to apply their learning achievements creatively to sustain and scale their conceived idea or prototype.

Certificate of Completion:

Upon successfully completing the camp, participants will receive a certificate of attendance. 


Fees and Payment:

The fee for the camp is USD 100. Payment is required at the NDU Business Office in Zouk Mosbeh before June 21, 2024. This fee covers supplies used for the camp, snacks, and refreshments.
