Overview:

This week-long summer camp is primarily centered around environmental activities, with the aim of delivering a supportive, enriching, and enjoyable learning experience. Through the organization of events and activities like planting, water quality testing, waste collection and separation, and various other environmental engineering projects, our goal is to foster valuable learning opportunities while also showcasing NDU as an optimal learning environment. The camp provides a comprehensive and immersive program that integrates hands-on experiments, engaging activities, enlightening guest speakers, stimulating conferences, and global perspectives.


Daily Schedule:

Start Time: 10:00 AM

End Time: 1:00 PM


Suggested Program:  

- Adding green material to concrete mix and testing its strength  
- Visit to Aintoura recycling plant and experimenting with waste reduction, separation, reuse, and recycling processes  
- Starting a Garden Club in the camp  
- Assessment of water quality and experiencing the wastewater treatment process  
- Constructing a landfill cover

- Closing session/Certificate distribution

 

Participants:

Open to school students in Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.

 

Outcome:

Participants will experience environmental engineering in a unique atmosphere, free from external pressure, with plenty of encouragement and engagement. They will strengthen their interest in STEM disciplines, gain self-confidence, make new friends, and learn about career options in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

Certificate of Completion:

Upon successfully completing the camp, participants will receive a certificate of attendance. 


Fees and Payment:

The fee for the camp is USD 150. Payment is required at the NDU Business Office in Zouk Mosbeh before June 17, 2024, or via online payment as decided by the University. Full payment is required upon registration.
