Overview:

"From Sketch to Runway" is a comprehensive fashion design workshop spanning five days. Participants will learn about fashion history, master illustration techniques, explore felt artistry, and culminate in hands-on sewing and studio sessions. The workshop aims to equip participants with a holistic understanding of the fashion design process, from conceptualization to execution, empowering them to express their creativity and produce runway-worthy garments.

Suggested Program:

Day 1:

"Fashion Through the Ages"
Embark on a captivating journey as we revisit the evolution of fashion. Offer a mesmerizing recap of historical styles, iconic trends, and the cultural influences that have shaped the world of fashion.

Day 2:

"Mastering Fashion Illustration" 
This session is your passport to the art of fashion illustration, as your sketches transform into stunning representations of haute couture.

Day 3:

"Textile Mastery: The Art of Felt Technique"
From understanding raw materials to hands-on creation, this course invites participants to explore the tactile and transformative nature of textiles.


Days 4 and 5:

"Sew and Slay Studio"
Learn the art of sewing, pattern making, and garment construction. From sketch to stitched reality, this course is your backstage pass to the fashion industry.


Participants:

Open to school students in Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.


Outcome:

Participants in the "From Sketch to Runway" workshop will gain valuable skills in fashion design, deepen their understanding of fashion history, enhance their creativity, network with industry professionals, boost their confidence, find inspiration, and gain practical experience in garment creation.


Trainer:

Mia Maria Mikhael holds a master's degree in Fashion Communication and Styling from Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Milan, Italy, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design from Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) in Lebanon.


Certificate of Completion:

Upon successfully completing the camp, participants will receive a certificate of attendance. 


Fees and Payment:

The fee for the camp is USD 200. Payment is required at the NDU Business Office in Zouk Mosbeh before June 24, 2024, or via online payment as decided by the University. This fee includes a fashion design kit valued at USD 50, as well as snacks, refreshments, and health insurance coverage during camp hours. A non-refundable first payment of USD 50 is required upon registration.
