Overview:

The Interior Design Summer Camp offers participants a hands-on experience in interior design. Students will explore various styles, historical periods, and the works of famous interior designers. They will delve into 2D and 3D design concepts, play with color and light effects, and understand the impact of interior environments on human behavior. Additionally, they will work on a small design project to experience the execution of a design concept.


Daily Schedule:

Start Time: 9:00 AM

End Time: 2:00 PM


Suggested Program:

Day 1: General Introduction

- Different Styles and Periods (History)
- Famous Interior Designers
- Introduction to Design Drawing (Plans, Sections, Volumes, 3D Drawings)
- Discussion on Higher Education, Career Opportunities, and Future Prospects

Day 2: Materials and Furniture

- Building Materials (Concrete, Tiles, Gypsum Board, etc.)
- Textiles
- Styles and Furnishing Techniques
- Ergonomics and Human Factors
- Standard Dimensions in Daily Use
- Furniture Ergonomics
- Creation of Mood and Inspiration Boards

Day 3: 
Lighting in Interior Design and Colors

- Types and Usages of Lighting
- Creating Different Lighting Moods

 

Day 4: Site Visits

- Visit to a Textile Company
- Launch of the Lighting Project (Light Suspension)

 

Day 5: Project Delivery

- Finalization of the Light Suspension and Mood Board Project

 

Participants:

Open to school students in Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.

 

Outcome:

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the interior design industry and the potential for studying and pursuing a career as an interior designer.


Trainer:

Janine Baroud holds a master's degree in Interior Architecture and Decorative Arts


Certificate of Completion:

Upon successfully completing the camp, participants will receive a certificate of attendance. 


Fees and Payment:

The fee for the camp is USD 150. Payment is required at the NDU Business Office in Zouk Mosbeh before June 24, 2024. This fee includes supplies for both design projects, snacks and refreshments. A non-refundable first payment of USD 75 is required upon registration.
