Overview:

The Music Summer Camp aims to:
- Foster Skill Development: focusing on various musical skills such as instrument playing, vocal techniques, music theory, solfeggio, and improvisation.
- Explore Diverse Musical Genres: including classical, jazz, pop, rock, folk, world music, and experimental music.
- Explore Musical Instruments: Providing hands-on opportunities for exploration and learning.
- Delve into Cultural and Historical Perspectives: Examine the cultural and historical contexts of various musical traditions, composers, and musical movements through lectures, discussions, and listening sessions.

Participants:

Open to school students in Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.

 

Outcome:

This activity will help participants in identifying their preferred music major or concentration for university, as they gain exposure to various musical styles, techniques, and instruments. This exposure will facilitate informed decision-making.  


Trainer:

Joy Hakmeh is a part-time faculty member at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU). She earned her master’s degree in Musicology from NDU and is accomplished as both a pianist and a classical/pop singer. Since 2016, she has been teaching the MUS 210 LAC course at the Department of Music, demonstrating consistent activity and reliability.


Certificate of Completion:

Upon successfully completing the camp, participants will receive a certificate of attendance. 


Fees and Payment:

The fee for the camp is USD 90. Payment is required at the NDU Business Office in Zouk Mosbeh before June 24, 2024, or via online payment as decided by the University.
