Notre Dame University-Louaize Model United Nations (NDU MUN) organized on Monday, September 11, 2017, in Friends Hall, the “NDU MUN Introductory Event.”
Event hosts Maria Aoun and Boutros Karam introduced the first speaker Melhem Rechdan, Assistant Dean of Students & Advisor of NDU MUN, who described the NDU MUN as “a pool of talented ‘leaders-to-be’ given that it engages students in high-level debates to devise practical solutions to modern-day global problems.”
Maryam Nsaif, Secretary General of NDU MUN, encouraged current students to join the NDU MUN family. Speaking about NDU, she said, “We prepare students to become future leaders who can exercise reason upon knowledge and shape a world of truth, justice, love and freedom. Nsaif also said the NDU MUN is constantly “seeking people who want to make a change and to influence others.”
A short documentary was screened to highlight the success of the NDU MUN team, during the 2016-17 academic year.
The NDU MUN Executive Committee members were introduced during the introductory event. This committee is currently working around the clock to make the “2nd NDU MUN Conference” a resounding success.
Also during the event, the ‘Founders’ Award’ certificates were distributed. Moreover, Dr. Ziad Fahed, Co-founder of NDU MUN was given an Award of Gratitude.
