Dr. Dominick Rizk
Dr. Dominick Rizk is a researcher and professor based in Washington, DC. He received his BE in Computer and Communication Engineering,
summa cum laude, from Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) in 2017. Continuing his academic pursuits, he obtained his MS and PhD in Computer Engineering, in 2020 and 2023, respectively, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL),
an esteemed R1 institution.
Throughout his academic career, he consistently maintained a perfect grade point average (GPA), demonstrating exceptional dedication and scholarly abilities. Rizk's expertise extends beyond academia into industry and entrepreneurship, having cofounded the Laboratory for Advanced Studies Research.
Rizk served as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at ULL. He also served as a judge for the Louisiana Region VI Science and Engineering Fair. During his time at ULL, he held various leadership roles, including serving as an executive board member of the International Student Council. His exceptional achievements and academic excellence were recognized through prestigious awards such as the Ragin' Leadership Academy Award and the President's Award for Educational Excellence and Outstanding Academic Achievement. Moreover, Rizk was honored with the ULL Dissertation Completion Fellowship in recognition of his outstanding research contributions.
With a strong industry background, Rizk has applied his expertise in various professional settings, working as a Computer Analytics and Design professional at iTether Technologies, a leading provider of HIPAA-compliant, customizable, and scalable digital care technology in Phoenix, Arizona. He has also collaborated on a full-stack data science capstone project with CGI, a multinational information technology consulting and systems integration company.
Rizk actively contributes to professional organizations, including ACM and IEEE. His research contributions have been published in numerous prestigious conferences and journals, and he has also served as a reviewer for esteemed conferences and journals as well.
Beyond academia, Rizk was appointed by the Lafayette Consolidated Government as a Goodwill Ambassador, recognizing his dedication to community service. Notably, he holds a lifetime membership in the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. He also holds the esteemed title of life member in the Order of the Engineer in the United States, demonstrating his commitment to ethical engineering practices.
