Welcome to Notre Dame University-Louaize’s (NDU) American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Student Chapter!
Founded in 2017, the AIChE-NDU Student Chapter has been at the forefront of promoting chemical engineering excellence and collaboration both nationally and internationally. In 2023, we proudly organized and hosted the first National AIChE Meetup, a landmark event that brought together AIChE student chapters from across Lebanon, including prestigious institutions like the American University of Beirut (AUB), the Beirut Arab University (BAU), the Lebanese University (LU), the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), and Saint Joseph University (USJ).
This groundbreaking meetup, organized in collaboration with the AIChE Middle East Regional Committee, exclusively comprising NDU’s Chapter, served as a platform for fruitful discussions and brainstorming sessions aimed at advancing the field of chemical engineering. With a focus on promoting collaboration and sharing resources, the event facilitated the identification of opportunities for joint initiatives and mutual support among sister chapters, further strengthening the bonds within Lebanon’s chemical engineering community.
AIChE, founded in 1908, is a globally recognized professional association dedicated to advancing the field of chemical engineering. With over 60 thousand members from more than 110 countries, AIChE serves as a vital resource for chemical engineering professionals, offering a wealth of expertise, information, and networking opportunities across various industries and disciplines.
At AIChE-NDU, we are committed to providing our members with unparalleled networking opportunities, both academically and industrially. Through seminars, workshops, and national competitions, we strive to enhance students' involvement and engagement in the field of chemical engineering, locally and nationally.
Despite the challenging socioeconomic conditions in Lebanon, AIChE-NDU remains steadfast in its mission to excel and innovate. Under the guidance of Dr. Elias Feghali, AIChE-NDU Chapter Advisor and coordinator of the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering programs at the Faculty of Engineering (FE), our Chapter has emerged as a beacon of proactive leadership and ambition within the chemical engineering community.
