The Lisbon School of Architecture offers courses leading to
undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in the fields of
Architecture, Urban Planning, Building Interiors and Renovation, Design
and Fashion. It also offers non-degree courses that provide
complementary training to professionals who wish to acquire more
in-depth knowledge.
This wide range of training makes the Lisbon School of Architecture the
largest and most diversified school in the country in its fields, with
about 3 thousand students. It is also the school with the largest number
of foreign exchange students from Europe, but also from countries in
other continents with which the school has exchange agreements. Its main
characteristic is the training through the projects in the first- and
second-level degree programs, where the knowledge acquired in all
subjects is applied in the design of objects that can go from small
scale to city scale.
Currently, the school is committed to training professionals capable of
working in society, contributing to increase their potential for
innovation, competitiveness and exports. For this reason, it favours the
development of final projects and scientific dissertations in
collaboration with public and private entities, fostering
entrepreneurship and creating future opportunities for students.
Third-level degree training is aimed at advanced research in the three
subject areas of the school, within the framework of the CIAUD, its
research centre, rated “Very Good” by the Foundation for Science and
Technology. As a modern school that tries to combine tradition and
innovation, Lisbon School of Architecture is a reference institution in
the professional training of architects, urban planners and designers,
as well as in the production of socially recognized specialized and
interdisciplinary research.
