A student entering the NDU freshman program at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) must complete a minimum of 30 credits and choose between the Arts or Science program. The NDU first-year curriculum includes courses in Humanities and Social Sciences (9 credits, with a minimum of 3 credits in each area) and Natural Sciences and Mathematics (6 credits, with a minimum of 3 credits in Natural Sciences). To progress to sophomore status, freshman students need to successfully complete 30 credits of freshman courses.
In exceptional cases, the Equivalency Committee in the Lebanese Ministry of Education may grant permission for a freshman student missing one course or 5 credits from the freshman requirements to enroll in sophomore courses, contingent on registering for the missing freshman course and passing it. Please note that freshman orientation at NDU will provide important information about these requirements and more.
Freshman students are not allowed to register for sophomore courses without prior authorization.
The Lebanese Ministry of Education's regulations specify subjects within the mentioned areas, including Humanities (Languages/Literature/Philosophy/History), Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Business Administration, Management, Political Studies), Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Astronomy, Nutrition), Mathematics, Computer Science, and Arts (Art, Music, Drama, not exceeding 3 credits).
