The Faculty of Humanities at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU), in collaboration with the International Francophone Book Festival, "Beyrouth Livres," the French Institute in Lebanon (IFL), and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), cordially invites you to an event titled "A Conversation with Nadia Wassef" on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. in the FH Projection Room.
Nadia Wassef is an author and bookseller. In 2002, she co-founded Diwan, a small corner bookstore in Cairo, which has since developed into an independent leading chain with 10 branches and a publishing house. She is the author of "Chronicles of a Cairo Bookseller," currently being translated into 11 languages. Wassef is the recipient of the 2022 Woman of the Year Award. She has also been listed on Forbes Magazine's "200 Most Powerful Women in the Middle East" for three consecutive years (2014-2016). In 2011, Wassef was awarded Veuve Clicquot's Initiative for Economic Development. She holds three MA degrees.
