The Faculty of Engineering (FE) at Notre Dame University-Louaize North Lebanon Campus (NDU-NLC) organized on Thursday April 26, 2018, a town hall meeting with the President of the Order of Engineers and Architects (OEA, Tripoli) Engineer Bassam Ziadeh within the framework of the annual “Career Advising Day” administered by the FE, as part of its standard ABET-related activity.
NLC Director Fr. Francois Akl delivered the welcome note and was followed by FE Coordinator at NLC Dr. Chady el-Moucary who presented before a full-house a biography of the guest speaker, Engineer Ziadeh.
FE Dean Dr. Michel Hayek, faculty, staff, and engineering students enjoyed and benefited from a important presentation judiciously piloted by Ziadeh who creatively spent more than 40 minutes, detailing all pertinent information regarding the OEA. He aptly demonstrated and explained in detail the OEA governance and organization chart, rules and regulations, latest news and challenges, current and future plans, statistical data, career trends in engineering, analytical/advisory overview, and information relevant to engineering students, regarding careers, challenges, and opportunities under the umbrella of the OEA.
This presentation concluded with a Q&A session followed by notes from Hayek and El-Moucary. Fr. Akl delivered the closing speech and presented Ziadeh with a trophy on behalf of the FE, as a symbol of gratitude and friendship, and in recognition of his effort and dedication.
