EMPOWERING RURAL WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS: FBAE WORKSHOP AT NDU-NLC

The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) at Notre Dame University-Louaize, North Lebanon Campus (NDU-NLC), recently spearheaded a workshop aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs in rural areas. This initiative closely aligns with the faculty's and the university's dedication to community engagement and empowerment, aiming to address poverty in the region.

The workshop, comprising two sessions, covered essential topics in management and marketing. Dr. Dorine Mattar led the first session, facilitating a discussion on strategic management essentials and their practical application in small businesses. Participants found Dr. Mattar's insights invaluable, acquiring actionable strategies to enhance their enterprise management.

In the following session, Dr. Johnny Chaanine addressed pertinent marketing issues tailored to the participants' businesses. Using real-world examples directly relevant to the attendees' products, Dr. Chaanine's session deepened understanding of the highlighted concepts. The interactive nature of the workshop, coupled with practical examples, garnered positive feedback from the participants.

Notably, demographic data about the attendees was collected a week prior, enabling the customization of workshop content and the selection of pertinent examples. This tailored approach ensured maximum relevance and effectiveness in addressing the specific needs and challenges of the participants.

A highlight of the workshop was the provision of support tools, such as the SWOT Matrix, to aid participants in analyzing their businesses. This hands-on approach fostered active participation and empowered attendees to directly apply the discussed concepts to their ventures.

The conclusion of the workshop involved the distribution of certificates of attendance. The event was met with appreciation from the participants, underscoring FBAE's commitment to empowering rural women entrepreneurs. The faculty looks forward to organizing future activities to further support local communities and effect positive societal change.
