The Ramez G. Chagoury Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design (RC-FAAD) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) hosted between July 14 and 21, 2018, a jazz workshop led by various and internationally-recognized faculty guests and gave participants the opportunity to receive world-class jazz instruction, during the one-week summer session as part of the Jazz Education Abroad (JEA).
The workshop was open to musicians of all ages and all levels. The courses included daily Jazz Improvisation/Jazz Theory, Jazz Master Classes, Jazz Combos, Master Classes, and Faculty Concerts. Students were taught individually and in groups from beginner to advanced.
This workshop was geared toward young musicians, music students, music lovers, those with no previous jazz music experience, and those interested in attending quality music events. Its goal was to facilitate the creation of a diverse level of music groups and to provide a platform for musicians to meet, exchange ideas, and create musical collaborations, in order to cultivate “musical friendships.”
The final concert cumulated in beautiful performances by all student combos.
