Campus Ministry and the Pastoral Work at NDU organized on Thursday, December 8, 2016, the “Marian Prayer Evening” on the occasion of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in the presence of Iraqi refugees and a host of other attendees. Members of the Pastoral Work voiced the choir. The participants prayed the rosary together in both the Arabic and Aramaic languages after which they watched the screening of a presentation showing the stage of immigration, which moved them greatly. In an emotionally charged and compassionate session, two Iraqi refugees gave testimony of how they fled from their country to an unknown destination and to an uncertain future.
Afterward, the University Chaplain General Fr. George Nassif and the University Chaplain Fr. Marc Khoubbieh crowned the Blessed Virgin Mary with flowers; a procession followed the crowning ceremony.
Finally, the Iraqi members of the congregation performed their traditional dabke to celebrate this occasion.
