May 20, 2019 – The Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences (FNHS) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Lebanese Ministry of Industry. A delegation from NDU met with Lebanese Minister of Industry, HE Wael Bou Faour, and Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Akram Chehayeb, at the Adnan Kassar Building in Jnah to formalize the agreement.
NDU’s delegation consisted of NDU President, Fr. Pierre Najem, FNHS Dean, Dr. Antoine Farhat, FNHS chairperson, Dr. Jessy El Hayek, Dean of Students, Dr. Charbel Zgheib, Head of Career and Placement, Nancy El Ghoul, and various faculty members.
The MOU gives both NDU students and faculty the opportunity to work alongside the Ministry of Industry. Students will not only get the chance to enroll in internship programs, they will also get the chance to contribute to the implementation of the food industry quality project chaired by the Ministry, and to participate in technical workshops coordinated between both parties. NDU’s faculty will assist and advise the Ministry as needed, further contributing to the University’s place as a pillar of Lebanon’s community.
The current agreement will last for 1 year and can be renewed down the line.
