Architect Jennifer Abi Saad, Ramez G. Chaghoury Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design (FAAD) Valedictorian (Class 2016), won third prize at the 17th edition of “Chadirji Architecture Award,” an annual Architecture Graduate Students Award organized by the Chaderji Foundation in collaboration with the Order of Architects and Engineers, Beirut.
Being the FAAD Valedictorian was one of the main factors that allowed me to be nominated for the Fulbright Scholarship by the U.S Embassy to pursue a Master of Urban Design in the United States of America.
Jennifer’s senior architecture project titled, “Souk al-Ahad – Ongoing Mutation,” was selected by a senior jury at NDU to represent the University at the Chadirji Award. The event is considered as one of the most prestigious architecture competitions in Lebanon. The Chadirji Award jury comprised of professors and professionals from different countries and educational backgrounds.
All nominated projects had to fulfill the competition’s objectives, which were to provide sustainable social, economic, and environmental solutions for the urban area studied; and respect the public by providing an innovative approach to architecture.
