The Department of Career and Placement, Office of Student Affairs (SAO), at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) organized on April 30, 2018, at the Zouk campus, its annual “Career and Internship Fair 2018.” The Fair was held under the patronage of the Lebanese Ministry of Labor.

This  year’s event offered more than 184 internship vacancies and 392 recruitment vacancies from diverse industries, including banks; insurance companies; contracting and engineering firms; computer and communications businesses; catering companies; hotels; schools; airlines; transportation businesses; retail and distribution firms; logistics; NGOs; libraries; and paid UN volunteering opportunities. Open to students and alumni from all majors seeking jobs or work experience, the Fair gave NDUers the opportunity to discuss internships and career positions with the professionals representing their different organizations on campus.

Attending the opening ceremony were NDU President Fr. Pierre Najem, Vice-President for Administration (VPA) Fr. Samir Ghsoub, and a large number of University faculty, staff, and students. Following the opening, participants headed to the courtyard to officially inaugurate the Fair.

Department of Career and Placement Senior Officer at NDU Nancy el-Ghoul said, “Today’s workshops and career fair will be a bridge between our students and leading local and international companies."

Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FNAS) at NDU Dr. George Eid said, “Our mission at NDU specifically states that we exist to educate.”

For her part, representative of the Ministry of Labor Mirna Rouphael said, “The Ministry of Labor works to support and help our young generations by protecting their rights under Lebanon's labor laws."

Meanwhile, different workshops were given throughout the day with KPMG, Labora, WPF,
UN Volunteers, Chairperson of the Department of Management and Marketing (DMM) at NDU Dr. Jennifer Abou Hamad, and ISACA
, which provided a general overview of the respective companies focused on recruitment and giving advice on what to say and what to avoid saying or doing during a job interview.

Human Resource Management students at NDU managed the application flows smoothly despite the heavy turnout.
