December 19, 2018 – The Campus Ministry and Pastoral Community at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) hosted its annual Foreign Worker’s Party. This event is an essential aspect of NDU’s human approach, as it helps our foreign workers feel loved and appreciated as in their tireless efforts keeping the university spotlessly clean.
This year was particularly special, as the event was attended by the Bangladeshi Ambassador to Lebanon, His Excellency Abdul Motaleb Sarker. On behalf of President Fr. Pierre Najem, University Chaplain General, Fr. Albert Assaf welcomed the Ambassador to NDU, thanked for coming, and presented him with a token of appreciation from NDU. Ambassador Sarker then spoke about what Bangladesh has to offer the world, thanking NDU for its human-focused actions, and emphasizing the importance of maintaining a happy workforce. Finally, Fr. Samir Ghsoub, Vice President for Admission, spoke saying that we at NDU are all one family, and that this Christmas is a chance for us to be together even if some of our family is far away.
After food was served, members of NDU’s foreign workers danced to Bangaldeshi and Indian music, and Christmas gifts were distributed by a Santa, organized by the Pastoral Community student society.
We would like to wish all our foreign workers at NDU a very Merry Christmas!
