NDU HOSTS PANEL TO DISCUSS ONLINE GAME ADDICTION

November 19 2018 – The Computer Science department of the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) held a seminar on pros and cons of playing videogames online. The panel was headed by two prominent international speakers in the field: Dr. Jordan Shapiro, senior fellow for the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop, and Nonresident Fellow in the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution, and Cam Adair, founder of Game Quitters, the world’s largest support community for game addiction. The seminar consisted of a 30 minute discussion on the NDU campus and was chaired by Dr. Maya Rupert.

The event followed an appearance by the panelists on national television on November 17, where they discussed the issue. That panel was headed by Dr. May Chidiac, head of the May Chidiac Foundation,  who invited the two speakers to Lebanon.

The full November 17 talk can be found here, and a one minute presentation of Dr. Shapiro and Cam Adair’s perspectives can be found here.
