The Lifelong Learning Center (LLC) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) organized a workshop titled "Generative AI: ChatGPT and Beyond" at the NDU Shouf Campus in Deir Al Qamar. Designed to empower educators with practical insights and strategies, the workshop provided an overview of generative AI and its transformative potential in enhancing classroom-learning experiences and boosting productivity at the workplace. Through presentations and interactive discussions, participants delved into the multiple functions of generative AI, with a particular focus on ChatGPT. With nearly 150 enthusiastic educators attending from schools across the Aley, Shouf, and Saida districts, the event marked a significant milestone in the exploration of artificial intelligence (AI) in educational settings.
The workshop, a learning opportunity for all participants involved, discussed several emerging topics. These prominently included understanding generative AI and its diverse functions, exploring how AI technologies can revolutionize teaching and learning processes, navigating the integration of AI tools in educational settings and its ethical considerations, providing hands-on demonstrations and examples, teaching educators to utilize ChatGPT and other AI tools like Gemini and Copilot, and offering examples on crafting effective prompts for AI-generated content.
