May 20, 2017: Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) has placed second in the 2017 LAU Mathematics Tournament (LAU-MT) for undergraduate students.
This contest took place at the Lebanese American University (LAU) with the purpose of bringing together undergraduate mathematics students, from various universities in Lebanon, in a context on Applied Mathematics related problems.
Both students on the second-place team, Alina Beani and Hiba Bou Kaedbey, Mathematics major, have received a certificate of participation in LAU-MT 2017.
Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at NDU Dr. Roger Nakad shared his joy and pride with the students’ accomplishments and contributions and encouraged them by saying, “you are doing better than you think you are.”
The trend of NDU students leaving their mark in national, regional, and international competitions clearly indicates the sheer number of exceedingly talented and intelligent students the University has across its three campuses. Backed by NDU’s high-quality education, students have learned how to harness and direct their innovation, energy, and vision. The University is proud of every single one of them!
