In celebration of Lebanon’s Independence Day, Notre Dame University-Shouf Campus organized a visit to the Lebanese army headquarters in Neemeh on Monday, November 21, 2016.
Joining the army on Independence Day has become a staple and a much awaited tradition for the both the NDU-Shouf Campus family and the army. Faculty, staff, and students, joined by NDU- Shouf Campus Director, Fr. Hanna Tayar were greeted with much enthusiasm, cheers and national songs.
As a token of gratitude and appreciation for the Lebanese army, the Shouf Campus delegation presented Lieutenant Colonel Antoine Wehbeh, head of the Eighth Brigade at Neemeh, with an army display model featuring a Lebanese soldier standing tall with the cedar tree adorning the chest. Directly under the Cedar is the NDU logo. Then a cake featuring the NDU log and the Lebanese flag was cut for the occasion.
