The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) Shouf Campus hosted this year’s Hult Prize Foundation Competition on March 3, 2022. Those in attendance included distinguished jury members, qualified participants, and several faculty members, students, and staff.
The Hult Prize Competition was managed by Dr. Talie Kassamany, Coordinator of FBAE-SC, and the organizing committee of NDU Shouf Campus students: Sam Shayya, Hult Prize Campus Director, Reine Nasr, Teams Coordinator, Tala Nasr, Logistics Coordinator, Ralph Makarem, Expert Coordinator, Jamal Awar, Photographer, and Jad Azzam, Marketing Specialist. The trainers and mentors to the participants included Ms. Dana Abou Shackra, Program & Marketing Advisor at Park Innovation, Ms. Souhad Abou Zaki, Senior Officer at the Office of Admissions, and Mr. Amir Saab, Innovation Enabler & Entrepreneurship Trainer.
The rules of the competition presented participants with a one-month timeline to meet with their mentors for training and follow-up for project-building.
The renowned jury of the Hult Prize constituted the following members:
- Mr. Amadeus Awad—Serial Entrepreneur and Business Coach, with four enterprises across Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America.
- Mr. Nader Al Mahel—Serial Entrepreneur, Coach, Strategist, and Consultant in Business, Brand Developer, and Marketer, with expertise spanning 16 years in both the MENA and GCC.
- Mr. Charbel Abou Hanna—IF Executive and Business Coach since 2014, and ICM London Certified Trainer.
In first place, the winning team of the Hult Prize was “Fireopaper,” led by Yara Fayad, Adham Faraj, Grace Al Kakhi, and Joelle Tarabay! The runner-up winning team, “A Juice You’ll Want to Use,” included Caren Abdelmalak, Samy Damaj, and Chady Breish. The third place winners were Rawan Hassan, Daniel Yehya, Khaldoun Ammatoury, and Aya Nasr of the team, “WDMM.”
The jury met the students with valuable entrepreneurial advice and guidance based on their knowledge and experience in their respective fields. As a token of appreciation, the members of the jury were presented with symbolic university shields to commemorate their participation in the event.
To conclude the Hult Prize Foundation Competition of 2022, Dr. Kaasamany along with Mr. Shayya gave the closing speech, thanking Shouf Campus Director Fr. Naji Khalil and the administration’s support, as well as the participating teams and the jury for making the event memorable. Congratulations to the three winners!
