August 9, 2019 – Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Collaborative Business Engagement (MoU) with Growth Technology LLC (GT). The MoU establishes a collaborative provides NDU BA students from different disciplines – mainly Software, Electrical, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering – with opportunities work on GT projects while being mentored by representatives from both GT and NDU. The MoU was signed at NDU’s President’s Office by NDU President, Fr. Pierre Najem, and Founder and CEO of GT, and member of NDU Board of Trustees, Philippe Ziade.
Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Elie Badr, gave a short welcome speech, where he emphasized NDU’s focus on practical learning. “The importance of this MoU is to better prepare our students for the job market on graduation,” said Dr. Badr.
NDU Pres Fr. Pierre Najem said: “We are responsible for providing more than an excellent education, we focus on our students in every facet of their lives. All the accreditations we have acquired institutional and programmatic, and the programmatic accreditation we are working towards, are to provide our students with the best opportunities possible.”
Ziade, spoke saying: “The best investment in Lebanon is in the youth. We have to trust that Lebanon’s potential is of an international caliber. The purpose of this MoU is to further strengthen ties between the Lebanese diaspora and their ancestral homeland. With this MoU we aim to sow the seeds of hope, and allow our young people to dream ... We want Lebanon to mirror our success. This MoU is signed for the students, for NDU, for GT, and for Lebanon.”
