OPENING MASS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2018-19 AT NLC

Notre Dame University-Louaize North Lebanon Campus (NDU-NLC) NLC Director Fr. Francois Akl and University Chaplains at NLC Fr. Nabil Habchi and Fr. Dominique al-Alam together celebrated the traditional Opening Mass for Academic Year 2018-19 on Friday, October 5, 2018, at noon, in the Amphitheatre at NLC, before a congregation comprising of faculty, staff, and students.

In his sermon, Fr. Akl welcomed new students to NLC and stressed the role of instructors in providing students with motivation to succeed academically, especially those in need of more attention. He also noted that NLC begins every academic year with prayer and then continues work throughout the academic year with a moral conscious, as the Bible states. Work and moral conscience must be aligned with the word of God so that his children may apply God’s wisdom in their lives. He quoted Napoleon who once said, “If you know, so work on it, and if you cannot, so learn; and if it is impossible, so try.”

Fr. Akl ended Mass by blessing the congregation and the University.
