In an effort to outdo the activities that took place during the spring semester, the Pastoral Work at NDU, under the supervision of Campus Ministry, gathered from June 6 to 8, 2017, for a three-day summer camp that took place at the Lady of the Road Monastery in Tarshish.
This summer camp combined a bouquet of spiritual and entertainment activities.
Enriched by Holy Mass, prayer, and spiritual discussions, the summer camp expanded participant knowledge in terms of how to faithfully implement in our daily lives the Teachings of the Bible and the Church despite life’s numerous challenges.
A rally paper competition and a team-building training elicited participant curiosity and stimulated their critical thinking skills.
Among the lecturers were University Chaplain General Fr, George Nassif, University Chaplain Fr. Marc Khoubbieh, Fr. Joseph Khalil (OMM), and Fr. Jihad Younes (OMM). All the priests agreed on the necessity of a good instruction and implementation of the Holy Scripture as well as a wise assessment of our community’s situation in light of these teachings. “Communication, dialogue, humbleness, and unconditional love are the cornerstones for building a healthy family and a strong community.”
The last day of camp was an amazing celebration amid the backdrop of Nature Land Resort where participants enjoyed a variety of extreme sports activities and a delicious lunch.
Afterward, Fr. Nassif thanked the previous committee for its efforts and contribution to the improvement of the Pastoral Work mission, and announced the members of the new committee.
The participants described the summer camp as an opportunity to strengthen NDU community life in a cordial atmosphere.
