The Department of Psychology and Physical Education at the Faculty of Humanities (FH), Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU), organized on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Abou Khater Auditorium, a conference titled, “The Active Advocacy: The Role of School Psychology.”
In attendance were specialists in the field as well as NDU faculty members and staff.
Conference Coordinator Dr. Maha Mouchantaf delivered the welcome note and was followed by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities (FH) Dr. Kamal Abou Chedid who considered the conference timely and significant in light of the Syrian refugee crisis. Dr. Abou Chedid also invited schools to build a sustainable academic relationship with NDU.
For his part, FH Department Chairperson Fr. Joseph Tannous discussed the years-long struggle of hiring school psychologists. Fr. Tannous added that new collaborations would be forged to ensure a higher level of professionalism.
Finally, Dr. Simon Abou Jaoude talked about the services and facilities provided by NDU and the scholarships and financial aid provided by the University upon the admission of eligible students.
