RYAN TABET SELECTED BY THE ICM FOR AN EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN PORTUGAL AS PART OF ERASMUS+

Ryan Tabet, a Mechanical Engineering student at the Faculty of Engineering (FE), was selected by the International Credit Mobility (ICM) to spend a year in the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal, as part of the Erasmus+ Program (JAMIES 2020).

Ryan expressed how grateful he was for the guidance and the academic direction he received from Dr. Najib Metni, Associate Professor at FE and Chairperson at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the role the Office of International Relations played in helping him secure his spot at the Erasmus+ Program. “This program will be a life changing experience and will have an imperative impact on both, my educational and social skills. It will give me a new perspective on engineering education and will allow me to take in the allure and culture of a new country”, Tabet highlighted.

Ryan stressed on the importance of giving back to his community by stating, “I have always felt very committed to my society, and I am confident that this program will help me apply my knowledge and skills for the benefit of my country.”

JAMIES is the result of a partnership between five Higher Portuguese Institutions to receive/send students, teaching and non-teaching staff from/to eight partner countries outside Europe.
