Overview
The Department of Classical Music educates the musicians and music teachers of tomorrow, following the European Classical Music tradition. During their years of study, students develop their professional and artistic skills, steeping themselves in a rich palette of musical styles ranging from the early music to the latest contemporary styles, in addition to a comprehensive music formation curriculum. Leading faculty guarantee a top quality education in principal majors and in music formation subjects.
At NDU-SOM, academic education and professional practice go hand by hand. A major place in the curriculum is dedicated to chamber music and ensemble practice. Students also learn to develop and make the most of their own unique qualities and opportunities in order to develop a personal profile, helping them integrating the professional field.
Through cooperation with professional orchestras, choirs, and ensembles, students can continually test their own development in comparison to the demands of the actual music world.
