Instructions for Graduates and Guests

Dear Graduates and Guests,

We are delighted to welcome you to the Commencement Ceremony of Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) for the academic year 2023-2024. Please follow these instructions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.

Instructions for Graduates

I- Before the Ceremony

1. Report to Exam Halls II and III at 4:30 p.m. for gowning and line-up.
2. Ensure your academic regalia is wrinkle-free.
3. Women should consider wearing a dress or a skirt with a blouse (preferably white or black).
4. Men should consider wearing slacks with a buttoned shirt and tie.
5. Wear comfortable dress shoes to walk across the stage more easily.
6. If you require assistance for disabilities, contact the Office of Student Affairs (SAO) in advance for necessary arrangements.

II- During the Ceremony

Keep your mobile phone off.

Processional:
1. Line up as directed and proceed to your assigned seat. Remain standing until all graduates are in place.
2. Sit in your assigned seat and remain seated until it is your turn to walk across the stage.

Receiving Your Diploma:
1. When your name is called, proceed to the stage to receive your diploma cover and shake hands with the President.
2. Do not stop as your name is read; continue walking towards the President to receive your diploma cover.
3. Pause slightly while shaking hands for a professional photo with the President, then return to your seat.

Tassel Ceremony:
At the end of the ceremony, once the President announces the conferral, move your tassel to the left side of your cap.

Recessional:
After the ceremony, join the recessional in reverse order: Supreme Council, Trustees, President, Vice-President, Deans, and graduates.

III- After the Ceremony

A reception in the Open Area will follow the graduation, with pass-around foods and beverages.

Instructions for Guests

I- Before the Ceremony

1. Present your tickets upon arrival at the Commencement.
2. Ushers will be available to assist you.
3. The ceremony will last approximately three hours.
4. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and close at 6:20 p.m.
5. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
6. Accessible parking locations, including indoor facilities, will be communicated by security.

II- During the Ceremony

1. Keep your mobile phones silent.
2. Remain seated during the ceremony to avoid obstructing the view of others.

III- After the Ceremony

1. Remain seated until the recessional is complete.
2. A reception in the Open Area will follow the graduation, with pass-around foods and beverages.
3. The Commencement Ceremony will be live-streamed on Facebook: @NDULebanon, and broadcasted on TV channels.
4. Plan a meeting point outside the ceremony area to reconnect with your graduates.
