Mission

This minor introduces students to the mathematical foundation of risk assessments in an insurance context. It suits students majoring in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering interested in developing their understanding of future risk evaluation.

 

Admission Requirements

General requirements for admission to this minor are those of the University policy on Undergraduate Academic Minors. No additional requirements are needed. Refer to the section entitled “General Rules and Regulations for Minors” of the catalog.

List of Courses and Graduation Requirements

To fulfill the requirements for a minor in Actuarial Sciences, students must complete the following courses: MAT 224, MAT 325/MAT 326, MAT 206, and 9 credits selected from the following pool: ACS 375, ACS 310, ACS 314, ACS 424, ACS 450, ACS 324, STA 312, STA 315.

A minimum grade of “D” is required for each course, and the minor must be completed with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
