Project Description:
RERE is set to launch the Center of e-Health Innovation (CeHI) at NDU. This initiative will employ the Knowledge Triangle approach, integrating education, research, and the community to deliver high-quality, cost-effective e-medical and healthcare services. CeHI's primary objective is to enhance healthcare services and empower patients in managing their health through digital innovation and effective collaboration with local, national, and international partners. This will be achieved by focusing on four key areas:
1. Research and Development
2. Education and Training
3. Provision of Health Services
4. Policy-Making and Strategic Planning
CeHI will offer comprehensive, multidisciplinary e-services to university stakeholders and the community, conduct training and capacity-building workshops, drive research advancements in the e-health field, and actively engage with policy makers. RERE's primary goals include establishing and nurturing strong industry partnerships with CeHI, creating a web platform grounded in the Knowledge Triangle approach to foster the development and commercialization of innovative e-Health technologies, launching an integrated professional diploma program in e-Health and Medical Informatics, and establishing an ongoing lifelong learning training (LLT) program in the realm of innovative e-health in the fields of Medical, Health, IT, and Engineering.
Center of e-Health Innovation (CeHI)
Mission
CeHI's mission is to provide accessible and high-quality healthcare services using technology and digital platforms, aiming to enhance the patient experience. The center offers telemedicine services, online medical record management, remote consultations, and health monitoring systems, all geared toward making healthcare more patient-centric and efficient. By integrating digital technologies into healthcare, CeHI strives to increase accessibility, personalization, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, CeHI serves as a platform for students to explore digital innovations, telemedicine concepts, and health informatics, enriching their educational experience and preparing them for the evolving landscape of eHealth.
Vision
CeHI's vision is to:
- Provide professional development programs for healthcare providers and practitioners on emerging topics and advancements in e-health and artificial intelligence in healthcare.
- Offer patients telemedicine services, online medical record management, remote consultations, and health monitoring systems.
- Improve the quality of teaching by providing students with hands-on experience in digital innovations, telemedicine concepts, and health informatics.
- Conduct research and scholarly activities in the field of eHealth and artificial intelligence.
- Explore collaborations with healthcare providers, IT companies, insurance companies, medical providers, and other stakeholders to improve service delivery and extend CeHI's reach.
- Establish systems for tracking and assessing the eHealth center's performance, considering patient satisfaction, medical results, and operational effectiveness.
- Utilize feedback to consistently enhance services and adapt to shifting market demands.
Sustainability Plan
1. Incorporate energy-efficient methods and technologies to minimize energy usage, such as utilizing energy-efficient equipment and promoting staff adoption of energy-saving behaviors.
2. Reduce reliance on paper by emphasizing digital documentation and electronic medical record-keeping, encouraging staff to embrace paperless practices, and providing training on effective digital record-keeping.
3. Offer telemedicine services and remote consultations to patients at a cost-effective rate.
4. Diversify funding sources by pursuing research grants and projects in collaboration with industry partners or government agencies, and establishing collaborations with healthcare organizations, industry stakeholders, and government agencies.
5. Engage in professional development programs and offer fee-based services, such as training programs, workshops, and consultations, to external organizations or the community.
6. Establish partnerships with private companies in the healthcare and technology sectors, potentially involving joint ventures, sponsored research, or shared resources, to provide both financial support and knowledge exchange.
The inauguration of CeHI on October 10, 2023.
