NDU Spirit is a magazine appearing quarterly in English and Arabic to give news of NDU activities, to discuss topics that are of concern to educated people and to encourage students to write. The NDU authorities and the editors of the review consider that a university student or graduate should have wider cultural and intellectual interests and be capable of effective expression, to his or her own advantage and to that of all classes of society.
As NDU is a Catholic university, so NDU Spirit insists on those spiritual values now so lacking in the western world. But this is not understood in a narrow sectarian sense, as all the officially recognised Lebanese communities have an attachment to God's moral law; this must be preserved and strengthened against assults of materialism if Lebanon is to fulfil its mission in the Arab countires and for beyond.
Some articles are light and humorous, but in general the review welcomes contributions that are serious but are interesting for anybody with an all-round education, whether written by faculty members, students, or outside specialists.
