Addressing the Current Situation

Dear NDU Community,

In response to the ongoing crisis and our commitment to uninterrupted education, we will transition to a hybrid class delivery model starting Monday, October 7, 2024. This means all regular classes will be held in person, with an option for online participation for those unable to attend on campus. Classes will follow the official schedule, utilizing the University’s approved tools (MS Teams, Blackboard, etc.), which are accessible to all faculty, staff, and students.

Faculty members with concerns are encouraged to reach out to their respective Chairpersons or Deans. Students experiencing issues should connect with the Office of Student Affairs for support.

Please note that hybrid delivery has specific requirements and cannot be applied to specialized classes, such as laboratory sessions and studios. We encourage you to check with your Faculty or Department for details on which classes will be offered remotely and which will remain in person. Additionally, all exams will take place on campus, and the grading system will remain as outlined in the syllabi.

This temporary measure is in response to the current situation in the country. The University will continue to monitor developments and inform you of any future adjustments. It is essential that we remain prepared to resume normal operations and revert to regular in-person teaching as soon as conditions permit. This transition, like our shift to hybrid teaching, may occur quickly, and we must be ready to adapt.

While teaching activities shift to a hybrid format, regular University operations will continue as planned. All offices are expected to maintain their usual duties on campus. Units should consult with their line managers regarding any special arrangements.

The Office of Information Technology and all support units are here to assist you. Please reach out to the relevant contacts for further information.

Let us hope for improved conditions soon so we can return to normalcy. Please keep those who are suffering in our thoughts and prayers.

Fr. Bechara Khoury, President
