The Office of Public Affairs and Protocol focuses on establishing and strengthening mutually beneficial relationships with external constituencies while exploring ways for Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) to make a positive impact on society.
This office works closely with various national and international entities to foster smooth and effective relations with government bodies, the community, and the public, with particular emphasis on formal and non-academic university events. It is also responsible for organizing events on behalf of the President and serves as an advisor to NDU entities and guests in planning their own events.
In addition, the Office oversees media communications, including preparing articles, press kits, and press releases, scheduling interviews, providing media coverage, and developing media strategies.
The primary responsibilities of this office include:
1. Assisting the Office of the President in organizing formal campus visits;
2. Supporting the Office of the President in drafting formal letters;
3. Creating long-term plans for fully activating the Office of Public Affairs and Protocol at NDU;
4. Establishing strong connections with government entities, including but not limited to advisors to the President of the Lebanese Republic, the National Parliament, the Council of Ministers, embassies (Ambassadors and Cultural Attachés), NGOs, various associations, and international organizations;
5. Setting a regular schedule for visits to relevant parties;
6. Introducing the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs and the Office of Marketing (for sponsorships) to relevant entities;
7. Maintaining and updating a database of all officials and VIPs to share with event organizers when needed;
8. Extending personal invitations to VIPs for on-campus events and activities;
9. Coordinating with the Lebanese Emigration Research Center (LERC) to introduce the department’s mission and vision to all guests;
10. Managing news dissemination about the university to the media;
11. Building relationships with national and regional press contacts to promote the university’s reputation and mitigate criticism; and
12. Ensuring the university’s image is protected and promoted in a coordinated and consistent manner.
